One Duet
Obsession becomes a mystery. Mystery becomes an obsession.
we were one once is a story about two men & one woman—it's not exactly a love triangle though. Obsession leads two men to the same path, but who survives may be the real mystery.
Simon Lamb is a hunter—he takes women, trains them, sells them. Simon has a new "product" in his sights.
Miles Vanderson is determined—he's used to getting what he wants. Miles is hunting for his lost love.
And the woman they both want? She's offering herself as prey. Not easy prey. But willing.

Just for fun
She surprises me by not responding submissively to my obvious deep, commanding tone. She laughs, eyes lit once more, face back to the mask of seduction.
Looking at her mischievous grin and fluttering lashes, this time I do reach out. I put my hand right on her shoulder, my thumb rubbing up and down the side of her neck. She doesn’t pull back, not right away. She only laughs at me a little more, leaning into my hand for one moment. When she does move, it’s quick and smooth. Her shoulder turns, hair feathering over my arm as she leans back, Don’t you think I should know your name if you’re going to be touching me like that? |
When I think I can’t push her further, when she’s had enough, she always gets this look in her eyes. It’s the look I think of as her submissive one because I’ve seen no other like it, but the word doesn’t truly describe it.
Her eyes don’t cloud with blind lust or willingness or even ecstasy when we reach that point. They’re startling in their clarity, actually, because Red isn’t lost in the moment. She’s not lost in the emotions and sensations as so many would be, have been. She’s completely with me—in the same frame of mind as me. Her lips will sometimes part for a small smile if I’ve allowed her the use of her mouth, and she’ll breathe out one word, More. |
